Farmers Cooperative, Lavergne, Tennessee
A native Tennessean,
Joe Huffine grew up on his family's farm helping his grandfather,
a dairyman, and his father, a beef and tobacco producer, on their
farms.
Joe attended
the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and launched his Co-op
career in June 1987 when he joined Tennessee Farmers Cooperative's
management training program. While there, Joe was an active member
of the Jefferson City Civitan Club and served as its president.
In January, 1993, Joe became general manager of Henderson Chester
Farmers Cooperative in West Tennessee. He joined the staff at TFC's
LaVergne headquarters in August 1996 as director of training. Now
the manager of Member Services, he works with member cooperatives
and farmer board members across the state.
A member of
several agricultural societies and organizations, Joe is a Certified
Crop Advisory, an avid computer enthusiast, and an active FFA alumnus.
He is vice president of the Tennessee 4-H Foundation, a member of
the Middle Tennessee State University Academic Advisory Council
for the School of Agriculture, and former president of the UT Martin
Academic Advisory Council. He and his wife, Trish, live in Murfreesboro
and have a 7-year-old daughter, Madison Anne.
